Free Magic jack # (the one with the *'s)

I was just going to renew my subscription when I realized you can make calls usign the other # assigned with the asteriks on both end. What are the disadvantages of just using this #? Why pay the subscription fee?

Anyone trying to call you must first dial a special MJ access number - which is not a toll-free number - and then key in your free MJ number.
