Magic jack problems
I’ve used the original magic jack for more than 3 years aside from a few glitches over the years no problems. When I started with windows7 it worked just fine until a few days ago, I had installed a router to use with a new lap top. Then, magic jack started acting up after a few minutes it would stop working, the window stayed up, the blue light remained on but no dial tone, the phone just cut off. Whenever I boot it starts up, stays active for a few minute then stops working. The man who has fixed my pcs over the last 10years or so came over fixed up my router connection again, the phone worked, 10minutes later it quit again. He is also befuddled. I had downloaded an update here. any suggestons very much appreciated, I'm thinking possibly i installed anupdate for magicjack plus and that screwed it up.

My story is almost identical except I've made no recent changes. Had MJ for almost four years/HP Slimline computer/Windows 7. For about past month calls have been dropping after a few minutes or dial tone is missing though the dongle blue light is on. Rebooting MJ solves the problem for a while. I'm not a techie so I'm just trying to live with it till my contract runs out in May.
hi I'm formatting my hard drive today hoping it's been a virus and that will solve it.Too bad, mj has been good up until now.English_Jean wrote:My story is almost identical except I've made no recent changes. Thanks for the suggestion Richard but I'm not ready to try anything this radical yet. I'll limp along with MJ till my contract runs out in May

Jean
Don't know why the quote option isn't working. I think it's something to do with my browser
