Old Magic Jacks - Toss them!

Post by MattInLA »

Hi, I had a weird problem with my Older MJ, it would not go into sleep mode, I had to constantly reboot it and restart it plus it was using incredible amounts of memory. After buying a new one, all these problems disappeared completely. Works FLAWLESSLY. I advise all out there with MJ's older than 5 years to immediately go and buy a new one.

It is intended behavior to prevent the hosting PC from sleeping or hibernating automatically while the MJ is connected. This is because the MJ can only function while the PC is awake. If you need your MJ to continue working while your PC sleeps you should purchase a MagicJack Plus and connect it directly to your router, which presumably never sleeps.
