Caller ID on PC Modem?
How do i get caller id to come up when plugged into a pc modem. Tried using mj with and without computer and with 3 different modems but regardless of the software or modem in the computer, no caller id info shows up on the PC. Get caller id on the phone fine, tried the resistor trick as well, can't get any caller id on pc (works with mj softphone of course)
A double check...
Just to make sure this wasn't a hardware problem, ran a 40' phone line from my charter mta to a Windows Server 08 machine (computers are on opposite side of house where phone is hooked up), tested it with hyper-terminal, cid info came up fine, plug same line into my Windows 7 Ultimate desktop, same thing, cid info came up fine, swapped modems back and forth between machines, all had cid info come up, plug mj line in instead of charter (which would be a 3' cord), no caller id on pc, but will come up on phone fine (directly connected with a 3' cord from the phone out on the modem), super stumped here. What i've got out of this is mj's cid is 99% not compatible with D/F/V modems. If anyone's got cid to work on their computer (through a modem) please share make, model, and how
