A couple of years ago Magic Jack introduced their Call Screener. Once I learned of this new feature I turned it on. Quiet returned to most evenings as the robo calls stopped. The Call screener prompts a caller to hit a specific digit on their phone key pad before a call can go through to your Magic Jack number. However, this feature only works with incoming calls from NON-MAGIC JACK numbers. So, in the past three weeks I am started to receive robo calls.
The first time it happened I signed into my Magic Jack account and I verified that the call screen was turned on. So, gee how can I be getting robo calls?
Simple. Telemarketers have discovered that they can plug their computer/robo dialer into a magic jack box. I have called customer service and basically they don't seem to care.
There is a simple fix that Magic Jack can do. They can program the call screener to screen Magic Jack to Magic Jack calls.
Has anyone else received robo calls when the call screen is enabled?
