Sorry it is a typo it is 1500 minutes. If you don't think that is good you should read the fine print of the other major carriers many are less some are more.
The whole site is in the process of being redone as we are trying to make the site easier for customers to get answers they need faster and also start to focus on more of a offering then a free service. Free service accounts will be coming back but there will be a limited offering and support for them.

no issues. Your router registers with us every 60 to 120 minutes so we know who you are. The key is that the user name and password on the ata be correct so the registration works

They charge 10 bucks a month.....a
MONTH....MJ charges $1.67 a month and NT charges $2.50 a month if using the Duo and $0.00 a month,
NADA if lucky enough to be one of the first year buyers of the TK6000. I don't get it. Am I one of the only two people in the entire US that has had NO problems with either MJ or NT (Hey Nailgunner, are we really the only two that's had no problems??).
SO! Will someone please explain in a manner that will cause this old man's feeble synaptic connections to, well, CONNECT?
Don't get me wrong......I am ALL FOR competition and free market. Competition is what keeps honest people honest.
I gotta be missing sumthin.....especially when the genuis that is VaHam is sold on this thing.
At the risk of being labeled obscene, WTF???

Here is what sets us apart from both the duo and MJ as it certainly is not price.
1. Customer service. I would say that 98% of all users of the service would vouch that we go above and beyond for them.
2. The fact we allow you to BYOD (bring your own device). You don't have to hack it or worry about us changing the encryption. We believe you pay for the service you can use it any device you want.
3. MJ makes up lost revenue on the calls and service by selling you an adapter plus having ads in the software, not to mention the countless accusations against them of being adware.
As you mentioned there is many services out there. You don't like us that is fine it is your right to choose and we wont hold that against you.

One thing to know if we are having a outage I will let all clients know. So if you are having a problem please check your settings and equipment, as well as your usage for the month. As some pointed out there is a 1500 minute cap on the unlimited* service. Only one person has hit the cap in the last year of testing testing.
Now with the holidays over we are working on removing accounts with no activity as well as adding accounts that have been ordered before xmas for free service.
We are also working on redesigning the site to provide more information to clients as well as easy access to faq.

So, "Unlimited" is really 48 minutes per day? Is that for the total of both inbound and outbound calls?

unlimited is 1500 minutes how you use them is up to you. 800 and sip to sip calls are free against those minutes. they may show usage but they don't count against. Each account has a padding in the event of some one actually hits it.
As mentioned countless times the average user uses less then 500 minutes a month. We took the approach of many voip companies that offer quote unlimited service. Every company has a cap, even the beloved magic jack, vonage (I think was 500), voipo (1000) and so on. I guess we are the only ones that make it that obvious. I rather my clients know up front, then bury it in fine print.

genxweb's service, from what I have read is amazing. I would very much love to sign up for the free service, but right now I have a setup to route all my landline calls via GTalk - free for 2011.
It was a pleasure to speak with him a few weeks ago as well.

freephone2phone is upbeat about their revenues, so there should not be any reason why you should not get investment as well.
I would be interested in signing up for the free service late September this year - in case you have a mailing list or a notification system for your free service, could you please add me to it?

When you go to the web site it says the free account are available again. Then you go to the store to add it to your cart and it says it's out of stock and you can't add it. What's up with that?

Look at the date of that post on the website. And yes they are open but they are out of stock. Meaning I am still offering them but we don't have any more room on the servers.

So does that mean sit and wait or forget about it? It would be nice to be able to find out if you can get a local or some what local number first. If I know that I couldn't I wouldn't even bother signing up. It would be nice to try it first before going whole hog on a yearly plan.

Even if you do not believe the lot of us here who can tell you the quality is amazing, you can try out a monthly plan which is not too expensive.
Provisioning numbers is no easy task, but you can send a PM to him with the NPX you want and he can confirm if a block is available.

IMO if you can't afford $10.00 a month in 2011 there is a serious problem or your at the local library using there computers to get online!. Stop breaking the guys balls about FREE accounts. Can't afford $10.00 a month well bums can!. Start picking up cans and in 30 days you'll have more then 10 bux plus a few packs of cancer sticks and beer. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ

. Do the math $10.00 by 30 days how much per day with a 1500 min per month.
* i Vote for trash free accounts, next a few will want the computers and ATA free to for use on the service. Im all for 1 week free trial and then you shit or get off the pot

. Abuse and breaking balls about FREE accounts is plain BS LIKE your doing him any favors when it's the other way around

, Get a damn job or a 2nd one need be! or worse case apply for welfare, And if your already on it OH WELL.

Well aren't you the judgmental ASS Hole. Nobody said anything about not being able to afford it. I already have two MJ's and a TK600 and access to VOIP thru my ISP. I would be just fine with a one week free trial. I just don't want to be roped into a contract If I don't like the service or can't get a local number.

Based upon you apparently being the voipmyway spokesman, I would have to imagine they will get plenty of people signing up <j/k>

Come on guys, I don't think Mike want's his thread to turn into a pissing match.
To get back to the original question about trying out the service, why don't you PM Mike and see if he can set you up for a trial. I don't know if he can or not, but at least you can get with him directly.
I can vouch for the service quality, I know the underlying provider he is working with and they are very good. If you think you will exceed the 1500 minute max though then this might not work very well for you.

Im gonna answer you simple and easy. I myself have 6 different services. Forget $ all together. The guys service is top notch or else i'd tell you in plain english. I just contacted him. I'll let him explain it in his way not ONLY to YOU but to others. His service is'nt GOOD....It's GREAT...With that said i know for FACT he bends over backwards. I did alot of testing on his system. IMO the worst thing he could of ever done is this FREE shit, He should goto TRIAL and then ppl decide or think of it this way and its simple because of NO CONTRACT just sign up for ONE MONTH for $10.00 and quit if it's not your cup of tea. But as far as i know he don't give free ATA's ever and im not saying he ever did either, As far as the 1500 mins go if you want more im sure he can swing it but NOT for what YOU want to pay but for WHAT he WANTS, What i say here is the end of this BS. I hope you find a carrier that can float your boat!
Note: In your case the FREE and PAID services run off different servers for your information!!!

I signed up for the free service a couple weeks ago. So far I have used VoIPMyWay with various softphones and my Grandstream GXP-2020. His service has worked great thus far and I get much less delay when answering my Google Voice number on it than I do with my magicJack. Voice quality is great and I have had no problems using or setting up any software or devices so far. I will, in the near future, test it with an ATA or two and I will most likely post about my experience doing so. My interactions with Mike, which have only been through the PM system of the forum so far outside the standard emails, have been courteous and professional. I hope no one will hold against Mike or VoIP My Way any dislike or bad feelings toward any other poster in this thread. As I said so far my experience with the service and Mike himself have both been great.

Sufzombie. We offer local numbers when available we have a huge coverage area but there has been times when I have not been able to get a customer there first choice of number.
If you want to try before you by that is fine and I have plans to offer that once the new site is done. There will still be a small fe but if you decide to keep it, it will go to the first month bill.
Right now you can try our lite service which is only 5.50 a month and includes 300 minutes. You can upgrade at any time and if you want I will let you upgrade the firs month for no extra money above the 5.50.

He has put my service through the ringer and has kept me up late many of nights even when I am sick. But you know if it was not him it would be some one else and he has been a pleasure to work with to iron out some kinks in the service.
I say he is kind of right because I get prob several hundred requests a day for free accounts. Those that get free accounts for the most part are great users. Though I get many that complain about the .01 cent charge, the ads, the limited minutes, no international calling. It is a free service with limitations that are clearly stated. If some one wants free service they can not be choosers "beggars cant be choosers". Many of our free customers do eventually upgrade to paid accounts, they are that happy with our service and we are happy to have them.
Unlimited*: Make sure you read all the other companies limitations as well. Vonage for example I believe is 500 minutes, oma is 3000 I think, voipo is 1000, and so on. Even magicjack and nettalk have limits.

OK now I get to b****
1. Right now there are two of us doing all the work. My investor and myself. Which means I do 98% of the work. I am running 6 servers for the free accounts and over 30 + paid accounts.
2. Free accounts are costing the company 70 a month per server. Usage fees and numbers are running us in the 160 range. This does not include my time or his time.
3. I run this as a side business and work a full time job while raising kids. I do this to help support my family and because I love the voip technology.
4.Even though w run crazy deals now and then we barely make any money off them we hope the deals get new customers in and when it is time to renew they stay.
5. I work on voipmyway even on days I am off and the office is closed so give me a break if I am slow to respond.
Ok now I am signing off as I been out hunting all day trying to enjoy my day off. If any one has issues or questions please PM me.

I was free user for all of one day. It didn't take me longer than that to decide to sign up for the paid service. The quality is excellent and Mike is top notch at providing help.
It is so nice not having to worry about the next game MJ or someone else decides to play.
If your running asterisk then being able to set your own CID is wonderful.
Heck if the free accounts are all tied up at the moment just sign up for a months paid service even if you didn't like it your only out $10; but trust me you'll like it!!!!

One more thing before I pass out. Free accounts are coming back. I need my investor to get his arse in motion in securing advertisers. So if you know any one that wants to advertise let me know and I can provide you with stats.

Or if you are new to VoIp we can configure your pap (if supported by our system) or you can purchase one pre configured from us.

IMO that was uncalled for.
My wife has elderly parents and she likes to call them daily. She usually talks for about 45-60 minutes a day. Using the voipmyway service, that one daily phone call would exceed the "unlimited" service plan.
For $10 a month, I would expect more minutes.
Comparing to another provider, Phone Power is $14.95 a month (or $8.33 a month if you sign up for 2 years), includes an ATA and you get 5,000 minutes a month.
newtoncd: Gash is kinda of right in a way. He is a extremely blunt person and it takes a bit to know him.
Ooma is 5000 Mins with no bitching if you go over as long as you don't go over every month. I went over on my first month and that because i worked with them in CA to iron out a bug in the Ooma Telo system. Like i went over on yours

and i have in total 20G + mins a month.
netTalk Duo = 5000 Mins

Does VoIP My Way allow you to control/change the outbound caller ID number?
For instance, if I wanted to retain my wired landline for incoming calls and only use VoIp My Way for outgoing calls, can I setup the ATA to display the landline number instead of the VoIP My Way number?

no it does not. That is not our doing that is just standard on carriers to prevent spoofing. We have noticed though that asterisk users can spoof their caller id using our service.

Please help me understand this... does that mean the Asterisk setup has programmable parameters that are not present in an ATA?

the ata relies on what the telco tells it based on the area you select for your caller id. On asterisk you can put what ever you want in the box no restrictions. Some times it does not work but some times it does. Vanham does this as well as I.
