Yep, just follow the directions in this thread. They may seem complicate at first but it'll become much easier to understand as you do everything.

Is this the reason why im not able to get the package onto my router? I have an ASUS DWL52GU running DDWRT (v24-sp2)
Someone please advise if I should try this:
1. On the router web page click on Administration.
2. Scroll down until you see JFFS2 Support section.
3. Click Enable JFFS.
4. Click Save.
5. Wait couple seconds, then click Apply.
6. Wait again. Go back to the Enable JFFS section, and enable Clean JFFS.
7. Do not click "Save". Click Apply instead.
plz help!!

Your problem is that there's no jffs space available. Which version of ddwrt are you running? You need to be running the mini version.

You are not doing step one correctly. Make sure you are getting your "own" link as explained. Although, the other link looks to still work.

I did save the location and did the download

Also as you said the otherlinks are working just not through putty, suspect lack of jffs space

Klingons, this is Captain Kirk of the starship Enterprise. We are receiving your distress signal but need some clarification in order to assist. I assume your running standard then. Reflash using the mini version. Hopefully that'll free up your space. This is what I had to do on my Linksys WRT150N.

Hi,
Thanks for all the help to use again ATA.
But still I am looking for help, I am using InnoMedia SIP MTA 6328-Re. I can able to receive calls but I am unable to make call using ATA, but X-Lite I can, I am not sure what would be the problem.
Any one has this problem, if I have to enable the NAT, how could I do that on InnoMedia SIP MTA 6328-Re device.
Thanks for your help.

I'm following all steps as outlined earlier and successfully installed mjproxy in my wrt54g v.2 flashed with dd-wrt v24-sp1 mini(07-27-08). I telnet into the router and mjproxy runs fine.
I still cannot register into MJ server using the PAP2T but ... can register with X-Lite with same credentials.!
Any ideas on what's going on here? All suggestions welcome.
Thanks
PS. have a pre-april 09 MJ

Thanks for still being around,

)
I point to the proxy01.yourtown.talk4free.com 5070 your password.
Actually when I telnet into the router and type "top" in the command prompt to see if mjproxy is running, I get
root@DD-WRT:~# top
-sh: top: not found.
There is not enough free space for jffs in my wrt54gv8.2 and so I give these commands in the router's command line:
sleep 30
cd /tmp/
wget
http://pagemen.110mb.com/mjproxy_mipsel.ipk.zip -O mjproxy_mipsel.ipk
ipkg -d /tmp/ install mjproxy_mipsel.ipk
/tmp/bin/mjproxy 0.0.0.0 5070 proxy01.urtown.talk4free.com 5070 my pw.
I get no error messages when I run the commands, so assume all is OK, but obviousely its not.
Any help welcome,
Thx

Now point your PAP2T to the router. Let's say your router IP is 192.168.1.1...you would set the proxy on the PAP2T to 192.168.1.1:5070
In other words, don't use the MJ proxy address (proxy01.yourtown.talk4free.com) on the PAP2T. You use the the IP of the router. If you have it set up this way, then I'm lost.

It works now,
I flashed my old 54G v.2 with dd-wrt strd with all bells and whistles including JFFS. Loaded mjproxy as per instructions in this thread, checked it and it runs. Pointed my ATA to my router's IP instead of the proxy01.mytown.talk4free.com and it works like a charm.
Thanks Cablespider for the hint and all the contributors in this thread for the setup.

FYI
It might work great for you, but the SP1 is not a recommended built anymore and users are strongly urged to use newer SP2 builts. See sticky
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=51486
"...3. Upgrade to a recommended newer build, especially if you are running SP1 or v24 final (05/21/08 ). Newer builds contain fixes for bugs. At the time of writing, the latest official build is v.24 SP1. SP1 has a LOT of issues. It will spontaneously brick the Asus WL500W router. These issues are fixed with some of the later builds. However, sometimes new builds have new bugs. New builds are BETA and not "finished" yet. Although you use them at your own risk these builds have been pretty thoroughly tested and work well, certainly better than SP1. Browse the forums and see what others are saying. Cant get it running.
My setup is this:
Linksys with Firmware: DD-WRT v24 (05/24/08) micro (no space for JIFFS)
Sipura SPA2102
So I have the internet coming from the cable modem to the Linksys, where I had the commands added to the startup as :
sleep 30
wget
http://pagemen.110mb.com/mjproxy.zip -O /tmp/mjproxy
chmod a+x /tmp/mjproxy
/tmp/mjproxy 0.0.0.0 5070 proxy01.atlanta.talk4free.com 5070 MJPWD
I saved this for startup but since I could not register I tried to run the commands and got the error message:
sh: eval: line 5: /tmp/mjproxy: not found
My ATA (Sipura) is pointing to the router IP 192.168.1.143.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!!!!!

Commands are correct, but maybe mjproxy is not being unzipped. File mjproxy.zip is downloaded but unzipped so mjproxy cannot be found. DD-WRT V24 may not have the gunzip command in it bin directory. Try a newer build of DDWRT micro, like R12548.

I just got a MagicJack and have DD-WRT sp2 std running on a Buffalo WHR-G125. I was able to install this onto my router.
I now am trying to cofigure the ATA portion of the setup.
I am looking at this thread and it seems to difficult. I can't even see some of the things people are changing. Is all of this needed?

Wait til this bogus, relabelled, partially rebuilt frankenstein of an ATA enters the equation.
Strongly suggest you obtain one from Amazon.com or other reputable source.

Seems this forum has died out quite a bit. I recently purchased a MJ and a pap2t-na. I have a Linksys WRT54g v8 running the current release (11/25/09) Eko DD-WRT Micro-Plus_ssh.
Here is my problem. I can ssh into the router and wget the mjproxy and set the permissions to it in ram (/tmp) however everytime i go to execute it, it fails to start.
/tmp/mjproxy 0.0.0.0 5070 proxy01.stlouis.talk4free.com 5070 PASSWORD
/tmp/mjproxy: can't resolve symbol 'htons'
My linux isn't great, but it isn't horrible either. So what is this supposed to mean? Work arounds? I've followed everything to a T and still nothing. I googled the 'htons' error and received only limited responses. The interesting information I found was a guy was trying to do it on a WRT54GS v7 (aka the same as the WRT54G v8) and that the router just cannot do it due to the revision number. Just a shot in the dark to hopefully get a reply that touches on this issue.
sorry aye.

I had the exact same problem with my Linksys wrt54g V5. No room for Jffs. I bought an ASUS and as you can see from previous posts it works like a charmand in little or not time at all. I'm no fan boy of ASUS I'm just very pleased with this particular router. Even out of the box it was mile ahead of my linksys. It was $10 more and about 4 years later so to be honest it should have been miles ahead.

I received and make call fine, but when I tried to use this version for my Linksys Router, my SPA-1001 has problem, sometime it register but only receive call and sometime it fail in the registry process and never connect. I tried this mjproxy in two Linksys router (Diferent Model) and the same problem. Any idea?

I found that its usually the STUN server configuration in your ATA device that stopps it from connecting go to your stun config and enter this server its what i currently use
STUN server IP 217.10.79.2
STUN server port 10000
Another tip is to go inside ur router and open port 5070
Hope these 2 tips help

I am using Linksys WRT54G-TM and using Tomato 1.27. I have run into a prolem on step number 7. I entered "chmod mjproxy to 755" (no quotes) and it says it can not be found. I am at a loss here, because I have no knowledge of programming linux. It appears that the mjproxy is not loading in router.
Also it says to Telnet, but doesn't show clicking telnet. I thought telnet used port 23. I am stumped at this level. Any help from here would be appreciated.
Thanks,

@Moe-Ale
1. You're using an old DDWRT version (V24, 07/03/2008). Update to a latest or newer version for your router.
2. The methods you are using install mjproxy in the /tmp directory where it will not survive router reboots. With these methods, your router needs to download and install the mjproxy package each time it boots. You use these methods only when you have a DDWRT micro version (2mb flash). Your router has 4mb flash with a jffs partition where you can permanently store and run mjproxy, without having to download it at boot time.
3. As regards errors in running mjproxy: invalid network address means the proxy address may be wrong or you're not connected to the internet; mjproxy not found -- include (prefix) complete directory path in the mjproxy command.
I hope this helps.

More Linksys WRT54GV5 Headaches!!!
I was trying to run the mjproxy (mips) (openWRT) binary posted earlier in this thread. After reading about the limits of my router, I successfully got mjproxy into my routers RAM in the /tmp directory. My problem just like a few other users was that I am geting the "mjproxy: can't resolve symbol 'htons'" ERROR! I tried upgrading to the latest bin firmware file dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin. (10/10/09) I still got the error! So nulland suggested I actually rebuild my firmware to include the mjproxy command within it, so this is what I did following nullands suggestions:
OK nulland,
I used the firmware from this package:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=58231
The filename of the firmware I used was called dd-wrt.v24-12548_NEWD_micro.bin.
Using a laptop I set up with ubuntu 9.10 I was able to use the firmware mod kit you suggested in your third link above.
I extracted the firmware to a working dir as per the instructions.
Then I used the included ipk installer utility to install the mjproxy_mipsel.ipk file from this forum into the build.
Then I rebuilt the firware to the output dir with no further modifactions.
Finally I flashed and reset my WRT54G, without bricking it!!!
Using putty, I found the mjproxy command was now built in, success! ... or so I tought!
I STILL GET THE ERROR: mjproxy: can't resolve symbol 'htons'!!!!!!!!
PLEASE HELP!
Hank
