Ok I played around with the GT7725 tonight and decided to use a regular SATA 7200 rpm mechanical drive on it with Windows 8 and I must say this thing destroys the T5735 in just about every way possible. It is fast and responsive just like my desktop and played every 1080p files I threw at it. The on board HD 3200 video card did extremely well when I streamed games through steam on my desktop to it and it was just like I was playing them on my desktop with no noticeable lag or artifacts. The HDD LED did in fact work on the front of the thin client just fine but the adapter itself does not have a LED on it. I am pretty excited to get my SSD in and finish thing this up. It is going to be the ultimate set top media/game box imaginable. I tried to get a picture of the HDD LED working. Excuse the ugly rug in my office.

My T5730 plays 1080p without troubles too.
How much RAM is in the GT7725 now?
How much can it control?
The fact you have a full x16 PCIe and the two working RAM slots is cool.
Had I known about the GT7725 back when, I'd have gotten one of those.
You may have given me a clue, as to my IDE to SATA adapter stopping the drive LED lighting.
Your adapter doesn't have a LED for drive activity.
Maybe mine having one is competing with the built-in one of the TC.
I'll remove it, and see what happens.
(The LED and the resistor in series with it.)

Right now I only have the two 1gig sticks of ram it came with. I am going to take the 2gig stick out of my T5735 and put it with a 1 gig stick to make 3 until I can get another 2gig stick. I am sure the T5735 would play HD video just fine with a pci-e video card but this one does it with the on board video.

Granted my desktop was doing all of the work and it has a 2gb Nvidia 560ti in it and the thin client was just streaming what it was doing but still it is pretty impressive.

My point... If you put in at least a TL-66 @ 2.3GHz and a PCIe x16 working as x1 in the T5735,
it should work as well as your new toy.
I'm sure - if you tried to play a 3D game on the GT7725 with the stock graphics, at full 3D quality
it would have troubles. But the fact you can use a full x16 PCIe in it, is very cool

I am pretty sure it is the ZM-88 2.5ghz but I have not been able to actually find one for sale online. The fastest one I can find is the ZM-87.

I actually tried to put a HD 3450 in it but it would not fit as the heat sink was to big. I took out the card that was in it and dimensionally it is almost identical to the HD 3450 so I started to swap the fan and heat sink off of the factory card and I have two capacitors in the way. I have enough room to move them to the other side of the board so I am guessing I can just desolder them and resolder them onto the back of the video cards board as long as I keep the pins in the same spot?

I'd say as long as there's room back there, and you pay attention to the caps polarity (if they have polarity), then, yes you can

I don't see why HP would intentionally make it to where you could not use other graphics cards with this thin client but I guess stranger things have happened.

BUT, if you find out otherwise, with the graphic-card, then the other person on that site with his GT7725 graphics problem, may have another reason it's not working.

i have soldered the resistors and capacitors
and i have got this shit:

with ram in socket 2 tk doesnt start
with ram in socket 1 tk start normally
but with ram in socket 1 and 2 starts and shows like the picture
i have tried to start without R473 but with socket 1 and 2 doesnt starts
where could i made a solder error any ideas ?
it looks like artifakts also memory error... i think somwhere a solder error...
but where
maybe C243 ? is atached on the images

Well at least it is sort of booting as you can see it trying to make the HP logo. Perhaps you have a solder bridge somewhere that it to small for you to see? I successfully put Win 7 64 bit on my new GT7725 yesterday but the video card I have wont fit in the expansion module so I am going to hunt on ebay for a cheap one that will.

Just curious but does it actually boot past the big white HP log screen even being artifact-ed like it is? Like if you have any sort of OS on your disk on module does it actually boot to that to where you can tell it is working? If you press F10 does it bring up the bios page where you can see a big blue artifact-ed screen?
I'm also wondering, krzysiek841, have you tried a smaller size memory module in the
2nd socket?
The members on the polish modding site said it only worked for them with a 2GB
in the 1st original socket and a 1GB in the added 2nd socket.
Only a total of 3GB worked on a 32-bit OS

Because, even bending the stabilizing tabs outward, the socket is still
not wide enough for the RAM holding arms to clear the socket below.
It isn't high enough either, not to touch the 1st socket,
when the gold pins are touching the board.
You must have received a higher sized socket than I did.

I think my socket may be 8.0 height. It's just a slight bit too low.
I'll have to get my better ruler out to check.
(It has measurement lines down to 1/64th inch.)
I may be able to manipulate those PCB stabilizing tabs height to
make the slight difference usable, but with the RAM module
in the 1st socket, this 2nd sockets module holding arms can't fit,
... It touches the module below, before the gold pins meet the PCB,
after the plastic PCB guide pins are seated in the PCB guide holes.
(Actually, almost seated, 'cause of the arms not clearing the 1st socket)

I measured the height, matching up looking at the spec-sheet.
The area on that sheet, originally stating it's 9.2mm height us only measuring around 23/64th inch.
Which is .3593 inch (9.12622 mm) according to the conversion site...

It's possible I could push the PCB metal stabilizer tabs down a bit, to raise it.
I'll have to see if that still allows the gold pins to touch the PCB trace, and the

The original FOXCONN matching part had the stabilizing tabs facing outwards already.

Then there's the problem with lifting the metal tabs too.
Usually, you'd remove the solder from the metal tabs first, using solder-wick.
I think there's a specially shaped tip to remove the sockets pins and tabs,
at the same time.
It may be expensive though, so usually it's done with what's available.

Putting on the socket is simple, compared to removing it.
You just seat the socket, apply the solder paste across the pins,
with some resin to make it flow well, and not bridge,
then simply move the hot air around the pins, evenly & quickly, to heat all areas,
until all the solder looks shiny when melted.
If you have a solder mask stencil, you'd apply the paste first,
then seat the socket over it, and heat it, same as above.
I wonder if our friend was able to have success with two 2GB RAM modules in.
Otherwise, it's all moot.

but it's not good practice to do that.
Usually, all the old solder needs to be removed first, with solder-wick, for ideal connection specs.
But hey, ...this is us here ...
and will just use a small amount (thin line) of extra solder, on the pins,
but definitely more resin than what's already in the solder-paste.
The resin helps stop bridging by making the solder flow better around the pins.
If any bridges do happen, just a bit of more resin, and extra heat at that bridge, or wick off the excess, and heat the area again.

hi gold test runned about 22hours no errors
i put 2 x 2GB in. The bios shows:

started mini windows xp from cd shows the same
but cpu-z shows ddr2 4096MBytes Dual ...
i tried to install win7 64bit - blue screen that the bios is not fully acpi compliant
i removed the second ram and bsod no more
after install will try to put it in again
ok i installed win7 x64 with 2gb ram then i put the second 2gb and i get a bsod again the - same one
i think its a compability problem how can i get the 4gb work ...
with 2gb in 1 socket and 1gb in second windows starts normally ...

Or do you actually have a Dual-core 64-bit CPU ?
Because with my Dual-core 64-bit CPU I don't see it say Sempron CPU in bios,
it shows some other name.
