Try this: start up Regedit (start->run->regedit), and browse down to:
Code: Select all
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\talk4free\USB Softphone\Options\General\FullName
Set that value to the caller id name you wish.

If not someone please update the title of this topic. If there is a way please post it.
Magicjack itself does not have this option.
However, a generous member of this forum has provided us with an app
that will block your number for you for free using a third party.

This no longer works with the latest release of
the Magic Jack software I tried it and the number
still was being displayed.
I am wondering why this thread is still around since it
doesn't even work

Love your enthusiasm welcome to the forums...but why resurrect a dead topic with this as the title.
"Obsolete: outbound Caller ID blocking and spoofing" Keyword in this context is Obsolete. Typically on a technical forum old post are not deleted ....or else how would the search function work? This allows some who is looking for Call ID block or spoofing to see that there are 3 Obsolete topics and use this information to come to the conclusion that hmm, maybe this is no longer possible.

hI... I downloaded the MSI Pearl... and im ready to enter the modifications to the files, but listed below are YOUR instructions. However, Number 3 - is confusing to me (im not skilled in this area) What file do i [edit]? i want to simply have blocked calling for all my outbound calling.. but WHAT file am i suppose to be editing, and how do i get to It. PLEASE help. Thanks.
1. Be sure that you have a reliable alternate way to make an emergency call, as this script might cause your magicJack service to stop working unexpectedly.
2. If you don't have perl on your PC, you can find a distibution here
http://www.activestate.com/store/downlo ... d58c2648ca . The MSI package is easiest to install.
3. Put the script into a file. Edit the values of $srcnum, $spoof, and $cidblock as desired.
4. Edit your hosts file (typically C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts), adding a line like this:Code:
127.0.0.1 proxy1.nashville.talk4free.com
