What are others experiencing ?

I guess all the carriers finally decided to fix the problem at the same time... ha ha ha.

Mine just started working also.
It's a bit too late. I just requested to get my number ported out and hosted on
www.voipo.com while i receive my new service from another company similar to magicjack. That is
www.nettalk.com
I couldn't wait until they resolved it, simply because it's my business line and it's a vanity number. The best part is, Nettalk has a toll free number for customer service and tech support, so you get to actually speak with a live person if you have a problem. AND they answered every technical question including portability, service, multiple lines etc. They knew the answer to every question live and not through online chat where they put you hold and then copy and paste the answer.
I can't wait to get it and dump this magic-crap. Bunch of BS they feed everyone to pass the buck.
Anyone that's had enough of MJ should really look at netTalk. Best part is, you don't have to leave your computer on. It's directly plugged into your router, computer can be off. And you can take it with you anywhere in the world, just like MJ. It costs $10 more per year than MJ, but i'd gladly pay that, the savings from computer being off instead of leaving it on 24/7 it a lot more as well as the live tech support. That is priceless.

^^^I forgot to mention. They also have Canadian Numbers, they don't state that on their website, but i asked them and they offer 416 for Toronto, etc....so if you are in Canada, they have it. But they charge a premium to have a Canadian Number.
Make sure you check them out
www.netTalk.com if you are fed up with Magic-Crap like i am.
They don't offer portability of tel# as of yet, but they said it's coming soon. So i have my vanity MJ number parked on
www.voipo.com until they do and it will be forwarded to my new netTalk number when i get it.
Good Luck everyone.

My Verizon cell phone can now call MJ successfully.
1) What about incoming long distance calls? Calls coming from Canada or other countries to the U.S. MJ? Fixed?
2) Another question re Net Talk. Can the device be hooked up to a wall jack instead of a single phone, so that all the phones in the house work?

I would think yes, the same as your MJ can. BUT, of course, be sure to disconnect the Telco input in the outside distribution box first!!
Then just run a phone line from your NT to the wall outlet as opposed to a phone.
I am pretty sure I read on the NT forum people were doing just that.

I just want to hop in here for a quick question on the whole house wiring thing again. by doing that, will that affect the call quality at all? better or worse? just wondering, because I have been considering doing this. because right now I have 3 separate phones with 3 separate bases all in use in the same room, and I often wonder if by doing that it could be causing a problem for all the phones to be so close to one another.

Since last Saturday I have been dialing my Magic Jack 512 area code number from my area code 303 Tracfone cell phone and getting the message we've talked about for days on this forum.
I JUST TRIED IT AGAIN AND THE CALL RANG ON MY MAGIC JACK LINE!! DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH - MAYBE THIS IS FIXED?
P.S. rest assured I didn't call tracfone for them to resolve it; they are another provider you can't actually call....

What some of us used to be able to use with MJ credentials that gave us better quality than MJ itself. From all indications, probably not going to be able to again for quite a while, if ever. Only one of the reasons I switched to Net Talk Duo--it rocks.

Hey folks just got my MJ in Canada in November and can not recieve incoming LD calls to my number which is a local area code for me. People can call me locally except for my son who is charged long distance by his cell phone provider even though we are the same area code and city. However Rogers cell phones can call it as a local call. Bell Canada in Ontario and Bell Aliant in NB say my number does not even exist, MJ says it is not on their end!!
lies?

t mobile, when they bought out voice stream in 2004... sudenly made it a long distance call... for people to call thier OWN cell phones from thier land lines.. and blamed it on the local land line company, but that was a lie.... THAT was with the CELL provider, they (t mobile) opted out of some agreement between telco companies, so it made land line calls to the cell numbers.... long distance.

are blocking MJ calls intentionally, singling out MJ calls only

Ermin: One moment please...
Ermin: Please call Verizon @ 718-890-1800 then ask them to reroute the call properly this is the only way to resolve this issue, they do not route the call in a correct way that is why those number was not able to connect to your magicjack.

nettalk sucks as well, i couldn't even customize my voicemail message. The have technical issues too.
I've switched to VOIPo.com they are great, and 100x times more features. I still have magicjack because of my vanity # and i've prepaid for 6 years and i forward it to voipo for now. But now that magicjack is down again, my line won't forward to voipo either.
I can't port my number over because it's a YMAX line (Sprint) which Voipo doesn't support Sprint right now.
Do yourselves the favour and make the switch to voipo. You'll get a new number of your own, but it's worth it.
Now i have to route people to my Voipo number until magicjack fixes their stupidity.

Magic Jack is lying to you. I got intentionally disconnected twice after spending hours on line trying to get an answer on this.
Your phone service suppliers are not the problem. MagicJack is. They are liars. Customer service with them is designed to get you off ASAP/ If they dont succeed, they disconnect you. Period.
I asked for a new phone number thst would work. They told me it would cost $10 and there was no guarantee that it would work. What kind of product is that?
How can every phone service provider be routing only MJ incorrectly?
its a bunch of bull.
We need a class action suit.

for me, most of my calls seem to be working... but voip calls are failing with the incorrect routing mesg.
this problem is all magicjack. they are on some kind of mission to get more money for incoming calls. its not as bad as it was last time, and they created some kind of gateway as a workaround by letting callers dial the 305-848-8288 number to reach you.
good thing that i do not rely on magicjack for incoming calls or i would be flipping out

I have read all the way thru this forum on this topic. I ended up finding it annoyingly humorous. I am not making light of the issues as I too am exeriencing the evil plot and collusion..yeah, right...of the various teleco carriers.
My problems just started within the last week however, not last Nov. as so many other's did. Calls originating from outside my local exchange don't get thru, local calls do.
But, I see your bids and raise you this: my son tried to call me today from Las Vegas and the call went to someone else's home! I had him try it again and this time he asked if he was reaching (my magicjack number) and the person said no.
Now, not only are calls not getting to me, they are going to someone ELSE'S house??? HUH?? SO, glad I did NOT renew for more than 1 year at a time. This is exactly why I didn't to that.
I already told my wife not to rack her brains trying to deal with the canned responses that they are giving. I told HER what they say when I didn't even listen to the call. They are still giving out the same old tired line of blaming the other companies.
Put yourself in the postion of CEO of a company and you find out others are blocking your service. What the Hell are you going to do? You sue the Hell out of them and tell every person that calls in that this is your plan. They don't say this because they KNOW it is their problem.

Silver48 wrote: my son tried to call me today from Las Vegas and the call went to someone else's home!
Unbelievable. Well wait, that word can't be used in the same sentence as MagicJack. My personal opinion, which is worth less than the $5.48 I'll receive in the class action suit, is that they have obviously screwed up something with one or more of their servers. If they are working on as much stuff as they claim to be, they might be biting off way more than their "engineers" can handle. As with many MJ screw-ups, this will probably (maybe ?) go away in a few days.
This could explain why Eva has not been retuning my calls though. I would not put it past Joe to have hacked MJ to have her calls go to him, and other diverted calls are an unintended by-product.

A variation on this lingering problem??

Since 11am this morning, I cannot call my MJ at home using my office phone. My office is in a nearby community and within the same phone company's territory. This is the first failure of this type from this number. The MJ can be called from my cell without errors and I have had 3 other people, all from out-of-state, call and get through, consistently and multiple times. My wife is having no problem calling out.
The message I get is different from what's been reported in this thread. It is as follows: "No routes found", then I hear the phone ring. After 2 more rings, I get a busy signal. The recording is in a male voice.
My brother as a MJ in Illinois. As of an hour ago, his is operating without a problem.
Is this possibly an associated problem? Everyone else okay out there?

I have had the same issue for about two weeks now on all incoming Out of State calls (from Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, Arizona). My chat with MJ support produced zero results. From what I am reading, this sounds like an intermittent problem, but like the sound issues I have for a 3 week stretch last year, this one seems to have no resolution in sight. This really sucks as I use this as my business line during working hours. I have resorted to having everyone email me in the mean time.

this problem is all magicjack. they are on some kind of mission to get more money for incoming calls. its not as bad as it was last time, and they created some kind of gateway as a workaround by letting callers dial the 305-848-8288 number to reach you.
good thing that i do not rely on magicjack for incoming calls or i would be flipping out

Has this problem ever disappeared for the people who have it?
