RMA Request; What's next????
This might be a silly question - but - once I do have a RMA *since I am returning my MJ* - what is next? Is something sent to me - or am I expected to return it to the provided mailing address?
blitz02,
I am pretty sure I remember reading the return trip is on your nickle.
So once you have the RMA number the next move is yours.
PS - I also remember reading part of the return deal is it has to be returned in the original packaging. I don't know if they enforce that or not but if they do that could be a show stopper for someone like me, that pitches out that kind of stuff the minute something works.

str8shooter,
A couple of deals here and I think mostly in your favor.
1. All the units shipped after March 1 are supposed to be a new hardware version that includes things like Echo Cancellation, Improved Audio Quality, etc. All of the improvements are supposedly done in the hardware it is not just a firmware upgrade. This is straight from "Dan" the owner in a post on DSLreports. So I don't know why you were returning the old one but this new one might really be the answer to a lot of Everyones Problems or Dislikes & Wants. Frankly I would love to get my hands on one of these new beasts, even thought of buying a second one just to get the "new and improved" model.
2. MagicJack's cost on those items is probably not more than $5 or $6 dollars and you may have one of the old ones. So it costs more to ship & handle than the damn thing cost them to replace and even if they get it back what are they going to do with it. They sure don't want to sell something used that they are trying like hell to promote. I know if I received one with fingerprints and scratches I would be one very unhappy camper.
3. Now send the old one back registered mail so you have proof you did the right thing. We all know that Dan the Magic Jack Man and his people read the mail on this site so we can impress them with the quality of our character and honesty.

For anyone that is going to give me flak about the Cost to MagicJack being $6 dollars please don't. Reason: If Staples can sell a 1 GB Thumb drive for 14 dollars if they do nothing more than break even that should be proof enough of what I am saying.
For the "Doubting Thomas", take a look inside one of your (preferably see thru type) thumb drives and look at the components inside then compare with what you see in the MagicJack. Looks pretty much the same doesn't it. Also consider how many folks have their piece of the Thumb Drive that Staples sells you for $14 dollars. There is the manufacturer, importer, wholesaler, and last but not least Staples.
