can't make receive calls, specific number
I'm trying to get a new job and if it weren't for my husband also working for the company I would have never known that I was called for an interview. When they call my magic jack line they get a fast busy, when I try to call them i get three beeps like its going to be a busy signal, then it disconnects. It's a multi-line system that is blocked on outgoing calls and I thought that may have been the problem for half a second, then I realized that I have called several multi-line phones with no problem...it is in a very small town and I saw something about issues with rural carriers in another thread, not sure if that what it is....anybody go any other ideas?

The 3 beeps and the disconnect are the classic signs of a blocked exchange I'm afraid.esledbetter wrote:I'm trying to get a new job and if it weren't for my husband also working for the company I would have never known that I was called for an interview. That can be it. The 3 beeps and hang up have long been the classic sign of a MagicJack blocked exchange. Just because it may not be the reason for you doesn't mean it isn't the reason for the original poster and hundreds before and after that.Jano437 wrote:No, that cant be it. Same thing is happening to me and the number i am calling is my next door neighbor, who i know does not have a blocked exchange.
They have added recordings to some but not all of the blocked exchanges. One says that a termination agreement is not in place, another refers you to their conference calling department. And some still just use the 3 beep and disconnect method.
And apparently it gets broken down even further within exchanges, with some carriers being blocked and some not in the same exchange, so don't be 100% sure that your neighbor's isn't being blocked.
