cowboyk64,

I believe you are saying that you have not been able to register your MagicJack and you do not have a MJ Phone Number.

Try turning off all your security including opening up a DMZ channel in your router (if you are using a router). Give that a try. If that gets you connected you will have to work backward to discover what was preventing you from connecting to MJ.

Also if you have another machine you can try it on this would be a big trouble shooting aid. If it does the same thing on more than one machine the problem is back in MagicJack's court and there is probably nothing you can do from your end.

Good luck, and let us know what happens next.

PS - "What serial number", you will probably get that response from most of us on this forum. I personally have never heard of this one before, not that it should surprise anyone but I do believe you have found a new glitch.

cowboyk64,

First on the junk in the left pain advertisement window - just ignore that. It has been doing that to a lot of people for a week or two, albeit you won't find any post on it. I was just about to post about it to see if anyone else was seeing this when my Daughter called me on MJ and told me hers was doing the same thing. I would be will to bet it is MagicJack working on the servers in preparation for "Real Advertisements".

Back you you issue, I think the only way you are going to get it fixed is to do a tech Chat and convince them to reset your account and/or there is always the possibility that your MJ device is malfunctioning. But they should be able to diagnose that from the MagicJack end also.

If this is your first go-around with MagicJacks Tech Support the secret is to be relentless. Keep opening up new chat sessions until you get resolution. In your case I would think the resolution is going to be a Reset of your account or a new unit.

Also I believe when dealing with their Tech personnel the use of Buzz words helps them figure out what to do next. I highlighted the words you should use. Also don't use any American slang or humor, it just confuses them and gets them off track. This is not a tech support slam, just a practical approach to talking to non-American people. Hell we don't understand us why should they.

Very good, stick with those buzz words and you should be able to get somewhere with them.

On the configuration I believe you enter your ZIP but is was several months back now and I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday.

Have you disable all your firewall ?
have you disconnected your router and connect directly to the modem ?

...IT WORKS ... This Unofficial Forum has the magic !!!

...IT WORKS ... :D This Forum has the magic !!!

It was my IE setting.
From ... LikeMagic
Can you use Internet Explorer (IE) to visit web sites? Any issue with IE in general? Java not running correctly, etc? If IE is not working properly then it will not allow MagicJack software to connect to the internet to register/download updates/provision itself. This seems to be your issue.
In IE's Tools/Internet Options:
- tab Privacy: what setting is it set at? Low, Medium, Medium-High, High, Block-All-Cookies? You should set this at Medium or Low. Also "Block pop-ups" should be unchecked as well.
- tab Connections/LAN Settings: there should be NO check marks in this screen.
