The MJ logo stays in the center of my screen

Post by tepeco »

When I reboot my PC every 2-3 days, magicjack loads early and works just fine, even as the boot process is in process. Right now, and for the past week since transferring it to this newer machine, a lifesized image of the MJ device is in the middle of the screen. It flashes 3 messages, over and over. 1st, "Tell your friends magicJack.com", then "MagicJack" for about a second, then the message "One minute of patience for a lifetime of savings".

Right now, this has been up for over 9 minutes, and not only won't go away, but it cant be moved. Any suggestions? I've had the device for about 1 year, it worked fine on my previous PC running Windows XP. It began happening on that machine, but it went away after about 5-6 minutes of doing what I just described. Due to a memory problem with that machine, I replaced it last week with this one running Vista Basic 32bit. The machine has a fresh factory reload. I have set my AV and Firewall (Avira & Comodo, respectively) to accept this program. Right now, the phone and the computer work just fine, but I cannot work with this image in the middle of my screen. What's going on?

Hi tepeco,
Try right clicking the Desktop, choose 'Refresh' from the context menu.

Thanks Kevin,
Just prior to reading your post, I tried going to the start menu and clicked on the MJ startup icon. The logo quickly disappeared and the regular MJ interface appeared on the task bar as normal. Didn't get a chance to do that refresh.

Next time I re-boot (2-3 days from now) I'll give your way a try first. I'll report then.

Thanks again for responding!
