Magic shows running but won't open

We use it without the usb thingy. I pressed ctrl alt delete and it shows the magic jack running. It's displayed on the explorer bar. We tried to maximize it and will only show the preview of the program. I'm using a windows 7 computer. It even shows the mini icon that it's there. No matter if i end process then reload it but clicking on the icon, it will not open window, maxmize or nothing. What's going on? We stopped using the usb because it broke so we've been using it without the usb and using the computer as the headphones.

Are you saying the USB MagicJack dongle is broken? If that's the case then you're SOL. That has to be plugged in for you to make phone calls either from the soft phone or an actual phone. The only way you can use the MJ without the dongle is to configure your MJ as a Windows Service, but you need the dongle working up front in order to get the service set up.

we've been using magic jack program without the usb. Somehow it still worked without it. We use the microphone on the computer to use as a speaker phone. Just wondering why it stop working. Is there anyway to fix it without the usb? It stopped around evening time.

Reinstall it. It is made for plug and play. Unplug or reinstall it will work for sure. Windows 7 will automatically pick it up.
