YMAX is a CLEC
YMAX is a CLEC (competitive local exchange carrier) -- a phone company that competes with the established local phone company. They provide their own network and switching. As such, they are required to file tariffs with most of the states they operate in. YMAX lists all their tariffs here: http://tariffs.net/select_client_docs.asp?comp=152
YMAX is owned by the same people who own MagicJack and SJ Software Labs.
If you search though http://www.telcodata.us for YMAX' switches, you'll find they have points of presence (co-location) within telephone company central offices.
In fact, since they are a CLEC (ie: a phone company), YMAX is entitled to collect call termination fees from competing phone companies anytime a phone call is terminated on their network -- even if the call is made by or received by a MagicJack user.

YMAX Info
WOW. Great Info! Thanks!
Although I was posting in hopes in garnering informatio on when they would release the area codes that are always "PENDING".
The standard/typical "SOON" is getting old when family/friends will not call due to ext. local / long distance rates when calling us outside of the local AC.
Was told yet again yesterday that the 330 AC will be active "within 90 days" (Probably said that because I pre-empted then by asking them not to reply with "SOON". LOL)
Again, thanks for the info!

Company Location
After looking at the referenced link I notice that this telco is located in Palm Beach. FL. I live 20 miles from there and noticed that my magicjack shipped from West Palm Beach, FL so it looks like this is a South Florida company. So it appears that MJ is a local company. No wonder I had my mj in two days time.
