Using Magicjack/Magictalk with a usb phone?

Post by gorlaw »

I have a usb phone that works with Skype using Skypemate drivers. The phone is a "Bell Phone" by Northwestern Bell and has a model number of 21220-4B. The usb phone is very handy, but is not supported by MJ. Any suggestions, or is this a waste of time?

The TigerJet website now forwards to www.magicjack.com... in any event, the driver enables a cordless phone to be used with Skype via the MagicJack dongle.

I was actually looking for the opposite: a way to use a Skype USB plug-in phone with MagicJack.

Magicjack and USB Phones

Post by gorlaw »

I have gotten Magictalk to use my USB phone. It was actually pretty easy. I set my Windows sound devices to USB Phone For Skype, same with microphone. In Magictalk setup, I set speaker/earpiece, microphone and ringing to USB Phone For Skype. You can't use the USB phone dialer, but you can dial using the phone keypad in Magictalk. Worked great. Will try with my Magicjack later and report back.
