GV SMS problem

I just have no idea where to take this problem and you guys are all smart... so here goes.

I'm in Phoenix AZ and I’ve got Cricket Wireless as my provider (don't laugh). When I set my Android Cell to use Google Voice as it's primary number I can send an SMS text to more or less anyone in the USA or Canada and it works fine.

But I can't send an SMS to people who have Wind Wireless in Alberta Canada. When I switch the phone to use it’s carrier assigned number the texts go through just fine.

Clearly this is a Google Voice issue. I posted in the Google Voice forums but I don't think anybody from Google even reads those forums – no reply. I sent an E-Mail to Wind Wireless but they say it's a Google problem (which I'm sure it is but that doesn't help). For a laugh I even sent an E-Mail to Cricket and as always they lived up to their legendary customer service and offered to sell me a 2nd phone as a solution *sigh*.

So anybody have any ideas?
