I'll have to admit, they are making some improvements. Sure, they have a ways to go, but then Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm still impressed though.

They gave AT&T an A+. I know that's not right. I've used them for years and know better. They're good, but not that good.
Windows Vista and Laptop with XP SP2 on the road. Occasionally, a Mac if my Windows machine isn't working.

Well if you compare it to other VOIP its not that great...Besides the price... I love my jack and all but it isnt perfect....

if you noticed the ymax corporation along with MJ got a C rating. where as MJ alone gets an F.

i think a lot of problems are due to the fact that 90 percent of the world are computer illiterate and don't know how to do anything other then turn the thing on and log into a chat room. nor do they know how easy it is for windows to get messed up and how any software might not work, not just a phone jack. it's hard to make anything work when you computer isn't 100 percent healthy. or capable of running today's technology.

i just got my jack in today. first i installed on vista. and while the installation isn't what the instructions say it would be. it didn't take me long at all to figure out how to get the software to install and get the jack activated. although i did have to reboot the pc before i actually got a dial tone working. but then i installed on laptop and it wouldn't install. drivers didn't load to make it recognizable. so i couldn't load the software. but laptop is 6 years old. with older usb ports and running xp. HOWEVER, i did have a dial tone. and that's all that counts. which means you don't need software to actually have a phone line. you do however need the software to get it activated. after that. i don't think you'll ever need the software again. from what i can see. everything is accomplished through some brain on the device itself.

i also made a call. using my cell phone for the internet into laptop. and it still worked and sounded fairly decent. i for one give this thing a KUDOS. for 20 bucks a year. i'm not giving her up.

FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT CAN'T MAKE IT WORK. DON'T KNOCK THE PHONE. TRY USING ANOTHER COMPUTER INSTEAD. ONE THAT IS FAIRLY NEWER AND DOESN'T HAVE A MESSED UP WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM. YOU ONLY NEED THE SOFTWARE TO ACTIVATE IT. YOU DON'T NEED THE SOFTWARE TO USE IT. RELAX, TAKE A DEEP BREATH. IT'LL ALL COME TOGETHER. EVEN YOUR VOICEMAIL.
people complain about down times. i had vonage 3 years. it also had down times.

snowwy66, MJ uses a softphone on your computer and is just a USB to RJ11 adapter with some memory for the software installation. So it does no processing on the MJ itself.

yep, your right. do need the software. although it did work on laptop first time i tried it without the software but it not working now. and laptop is too old to detect the device and load it up. i've shut it down on computer and it don't work there. but damn. i don't want that thing in my tray all the time. if it has to run. least keep it confiined to the clock area.
