I received an order the other day, and in the package was a bunch of adds for different things...one of them was for magicJack plus. Use with or without PC, etc, etc. Free 30 day trial if you order with a credit card. So I ordered one. Next day got a confirmation of the order with my WIFE'S name on it...so I called...got the wife's name via third party.
I then ask to be sure I was getting the "plus" and not the original...the plus wasn't available yet!! Yet here it is ready to buy!! in this add.
Maybe a little longer huh?

Re: magicJack plus advertisement
Is there any way to tell from the ad if it was directly from MJ or a 3rd party re-seller? Someone posted once that those long-running infomercials (which I haven't seen in a while), were not from MJ but from a re-seller, so it's possible it's some knucklehead jumping the gun. Or just MJ being MJ and the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.ejdav wrote:I received an order the other day, and in the package was a bunch of adds for different things...one of them was for magicJack plus. I can't really tell if it's from MJ or not. It has a picture of Mel Arthur below a "as seen on TV" sign. I guess he's from "The Savings Shopping Network"
It says, limit 3 per customer, gives 1-800-707-5980 number and www.magicJack.com address.
They show a picture of it...shows phone cord plugged in on the right, internet cord (supplied) on the left.
Also says, A publicly traded company on the Nasdaq GM under the symbol CALL. Now, it flat out tells you, you can transfer your current phone number.

Sounds like it could be a re-seller. I ran a Google on the phone number and could get no hits associating it with MJ.ejdav wrote:I can't really tell if it's from MJ or not. It has a picture of Mel Arthur below a "as seen on TV" sign. I guess he's from "The Savings Shopping Network"

Maybe they quit working on the MJ beta porting to work on the MJPlus porting. It was posted somewhere that they are letting your MJ number be ported to the Plus. Of course there is no integration of the two devices so you apparently won't be able to switch which one you want to use with the same number. So your old MJ which could have 11 months left on it will stop working.
Edit: Just curious, are you in the US or Canada?
I think I mislead you...I never have owned a MJ. I looked into it a couple of years ago, but when I found out the PC had to be on 24/7 I forgot about it till now.
I took what they are saying in the ad to mean you could keep your original land line number, because as you stated, they were working on this with the original MJ.
I am in the US.
The 800 number seems to have gotten me to MJ and I ordered it, but I kept having doubts that it was the "plus"...guess I was right. They said they cancelled the order, but no confirmation of that yet. At the time, it had NOT shipped.
Any other info from the ad, let me know.
If you want to give me an address, I can send it to you, it's up to you.

Magicjack Plus almost here
I just check on the MJ website in FAQ tech support. I've entered: magicjack plus as question and there is the expalnation on how to set it up and use it. So, this tells us that they are about to release it.

Not to rain on your parade, but that was reported in here somewhere almost a month ago. "About to" has a whole different meaning in MJ time.Frankfone wrote:I just check on the MJ website in FAQ tech support.
