calls break up and fade
I have only had my magic jack for 1 month already I have had 2 updates from them because I am problems calling long distance, I live in Canada and I am calling in Canada and they fade out and there voice's crack up when talking to them, sometimes I can hear them but they can't hear me, I have never had a clear conversation with anyone. Help !
Try testing your internet connection first http://myspeed.visualware.com/index.php (java required) to see if it's capable of voip communication. Next I would check out the MJ wiki section on choppy voice http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/MagicJack/ ... oppy_Voice . Other things to try are bypass your router and directly connect to your modem and see if things improve, do not use the cheap usb extension cable that MJ provides, use a usb port on the back of your computer, try your MJ on a different computer or friends for comparison and try a powered usb hub.
here, try this.. it fixed all my problems!
But still make sure u run them other tests in the previous post. cuz this means nuthin if u don't have the bandwidth to use it.
Basically its cutting in and out cuz other running apps on yer PC are taking away from the MJ. at least that was my prob.
it seems they don't have the apps priority set right. it defaults to NORMAL. which is simply not enough for this thing.
SO.... load up task manager, hit the PROCESSES tab, then find MAGICJACK.EXE, and right click on it, then SET PRIORITY from NORMAL to anything higher.
(NOT REALTIME) (I have found HIGH, to be perfect)
You'll be surprised how much better it works/sounds after doing this!
I think EVERYONE should do this. Even on a fast computer this still helped.
I have tested this on a few different systems and they all showed significant improvement.
Good luck!

And so you won't have to reset the priority each time you reboot, install Prio, available here:
http://download.cnet.com/Prio/3000-2094_4-10455293.html
This little program allows you to save the priority settings.

I have the same problem. The thing that fixed it for me was I choose air card on the top corner of the dailpad. I actually have high speed internet, with fast upload and download speeds, but this fixes it for now. I had this same problem the last time we had a similar dialpad. It leaft when the dialpad changed and is back again with the latest update.
Sometimes I don't feel so lucky...even when Magicjack says Lucky you....lol
Good Luck
Kevin
