Dial tone will not stop

MJ was working OK but today, I can't dial out on my wireless phone - all I get is a dial tone that won't shut off. I CAN dial out using the MJ screen - but the quality at both ends is terrible. I have tried rebooting and disconnecting the MJ for a minute. Need help!!
