i recieved a magic jack today.
plugged it into a usb port.
plugged a new phone into the magic jack.
i saw some things installing or w/e in the task tray on the bottom right of windows xp.
i have a dialtone.
when i dial a number the call does not complete.
i did not get a shortcut or command prompt to register or choose a number or area code.
i searched on my computer for any info about the magic jack installation. found nothing.
what do i have to do to make my magic jack work properly?
please help.

When I plug in my MJ after I have deleted it off my computer, it sets itself up in a drive file location. In my case it's called "CD Drive (I) magicjack".
I have to open up that file and inside there are 2 autorun.exe files, one is autorun.exe and is small, another is autorunu.exe and is a lot larger. I click on the larger of the 2 (assuming it's more important because it's larger
), and my MJ loads up.
I run Windows7, but I assume it would be putting something similar on your XP machine. Once you click on the autorun file, it should open up and allow you to register. If you cannot find it, go to magicjack.com and use the live chat customer service. They should be able to get you set up and registered.
