Just to let everyone know so they don't waste 5 or more hours chatting online with magicjack representatives. I have been with magicjack for the past year and other than the little annoying quirks they have been pretty good. As for the past month when ever the phone has been active for 1hr and 30min it disconnects. This happens consistently! I got in contact with magicjack and for the past week have continued to get in contact with them spending a total of 5 or more hours online trying to resolve this issue. Today I started a chat again and FINALLY after getting passed to one of their top 10% agents this individual tells me this word for word the following: " Jeaniza: If that would be the case that the call will automatically drop after an hour and 30 minutes, that's normal and that is not an issue.
Jeaniza: Please allow me to inform you that magicJack does not offer unlimited calls, it only offers free calls. The reason why the call will automatically drop after 1 hour and 30 minutes because the software needs to refresh its settings.
Jeaniza: If that would happen again, you need to restart the dial pad and dial the number you want to call."
As for me, I proceeded to tell her that I do that and it only works after I refresh and then dial a different number first, then hangup and dial the initial phone number again. In reply she said "Jeaniza: We just made the recent upgrade for the software and that includes resetting its settings after an hour and 30 minutes."
Hopefully this information helps anyone that is having the same issue so they don't waste their time as I have.
Thanks for reading and please pass this on so as to help other people determine whether or not they would still like to go with MagicJack.

Actually, I think the 1.5 hour limit has been there pretty much forever. Read the MJ Terms of Service. You'll find it in there.shalaynaj wrote:Just to let everyone know so they don't waste 5 or more hours chatting online with magicjack representatives. At the bottom of the paragraph in section 3.b., quote,
"Calls of long duration may be terminated to make sure the integrity of the network is kept intact, which would prevent abandoned calls."
