Do a search of the forum and you will find numerous discussions about MJ and faxing. It can apparently be done, with varied success.

I HAVE looked in the forum, but the only references I've found
are to faxing from a FAX MACHINE, not faxing from a SOFTWARE PROGRAM,
as my question indicates, preferably Windows software,
but the process should be the same for Win/Linux.

If I missed the reference, can you point me to the thread
which shows how to do it, with whatever varied success ?

Well you didn't look too HARD. In 2 minutes I found a bunch of stuff. Here is one:

And there are others as well. I searched under "fax software". Whether all or some of the information is still valid is for you to determine. Good luck with your project.

Just plug the rj11 phone wire from the magicjack into a modem in the back of the computer.
