Dropped Calls

Post by Razmear »

Hi,
I just installed the MJ last night and my wife put about 5 hours of calling on it today.
At first I experienced some severe lag, but after shutting down uTorrent on my other PC on the home network the lag disappeared, and the call quality was fine.
My wife reports that several of her calls got dropped suddenly today calling into the 802 area code, there were no issues calling into the 864 and 508 area codes, but I'm not sure if thats the determining factor in the dropped calls. We are calling from the MJ's 706 area code.
The MJ is installed on a XP SP2 box running ZoneAlarm Security Suite, MJ has been given full security rights thru ZA.
Just checking to see if there is any port routing or firewall settings that make MJ more stable, or if there were just some network glitches today.
Thanks for any hints you can offer, and for having this forum as a resource.

eb
Day 2 and so far liking it, just hoping for 864 to become available soon.

Hello razmear and welcome to the forum you are correct in asuming that it could be a network issue on MJ side, torrents will cause some lag depending on your network speed and if the pc/laptop that the MJ is connected via wireless or cat5.If you try some of the many tips and tricks that are posted on this forum(start with the ones that do not cost any money first)for your issues and it does not work then most of the time it willl be an issue with MJ server, Unfortunately the only solution to this at the moment is to report your problems to MJ support and wait to see if it gets fixed(bug them if it doesent get fixed within 24hrs),good luck and enjoy your new MJ.
