No outside calls just MJ calls
I can receive calls from MJ to MJ but all other incoming calls will notcome through. When you diial from the outside it says this call can not be made as dialed. Any Ideas?
My son dialed with 10 digits on his MJ. My daughter and my son tried both landline and cell phone. My daughter got through on her first try with the cell phone and has not been able to get through since. She tried the landline also. I have tried with my cell phone and landline to no avail.LikeMagic wrote:How did others dial your MJ number? 7 digits or full 10 or 11 digits? Does "dial from the outside" mean both cell network and landline network?

If your daughter was able to dial your MJ number from a cell phone once then I'd say that MJ server is having issue right now with your area or your MJ number. You may want to do a Tech chat with MJ to see if they could fix it for you or wait and the issue would eventual fix itself when MJ checks their server error log and fixes the issues.

I kinda had a hunch it might be something like that. Everything else is working great and I still receive all calls with my landline so it is a minor problem at this time. I don't know if i could change area codes and try another land system but if I could that would narrow it down to them or us. I will chat with tech support and see what they say. Thanks for your help.LikeMagic wrote:If your daughter was able to dial your MJ number from a cell phone once then I'd say that MJ server is having issue right now with your area or your MJ number. good luck with that. i chatted tech "support" this morning about calls not going through and they replied with info about how to access email. they're useless. in fact, i have doubts that there are real humans. most of the responses seem more like they are coming from machines.

I went to chat support this morning and I am proud to say I now have a functioning system. I think the secret to chat support is to write out your problem as completly as you can in a word processor then when you get on support and they ask "Can I help you" do a cut and paste of your letter. It took about ten minutes but when the support person came back on they put me right through to a superviser. He walked me through a drive format then an MJ recovery, then an upgrade. Low and behold I can now receive and talk to the world. To bad I don't know anyone. I think all all of us need is a little more patients and understanding.
By the way, I am using Windows Vista Premium with SP1 and I have automatic upgrade on so it stays upgraded.SocalDad wrote:astro46 wrote:SocalDad wrote: I will chat with tech support and see what they say. Thanks for your help.

i think that the difference between your experience and mine (though the idea to write question in advance is a good one), is that just this past weekend they started using advanced tech support, to which, entry level techs can immediately refer problems when they recognize that they can't handle them. previous to this past weekend it didnt exist. tech would stay in chat for an hour not accomplishing anything and then refer to an escalation that didn't respond.
for me, this would mean 6 weeks of patience. for a new user, now less.

That's one small step for MJ, One giant step for Users. Who knows, maybe even telephone support next.astro46 wrote:i think that the difference between your experience and mine (though the idea to write question in advance is a good one), is that just this past weekend they started using advanced tech support, to which, entry level techs can immediately refer problems when they recognize that they can't handle them. previous to this past weekend it didnt exist. tech would stay in chat for an hour not accomplishing anything and then refer to an escalation that didn't respond.
