Weird issue...

So when I call out or I get a call in I'm having a weird issue.

When I call out I can hear the phone ring. Then I can hear the person pick up and say "H" as in "Hi this is jennifer with the bank how can I help you".

But I don't get to hear the rest of what Jennifer is saying. Just "H" followed by a brief dead-air pause then things are back to normal.

So then I say "Hi there. Is Jennifer in today". And Jennifer says "are you some kind of freeking moron? I already said this is Jennifer. We are sick of morons like you and we are going to take back your house, cancel your credit cards and ruin your life".

Same for incomming calls. Phone rings. I pick up the phone. Dead air. I say "Hi? Is someone there" and then I hear "Damn it! I just told you this was Jennifer from the bank. I was calling back to say I would let you keep your wife's car so you wouldn't be homeless but now I've changed my mind on that too!"

Any ideas (other than change banks?)
