Can't dial AT&T mobile phone?

Post by stevehauser »

I've been trying for hours to call multiple cell phones with AT&T - I just get a fast busy signal... but when I call from my cell, it works fine... whats up with this?

Are you dialing the 10 digit number? If not try that and see if that fixes you problem.

I just called my own AT&T number, with a 7 digit number I got the wrong number with a 10 digit number I connected straight thru.

I tried the 7 digit, 10 digit, and even put a "1" in front... nothing... fast busy tones.

Well, its not only AT&T -- I find I can't dial ANY number outside my area code now... I'm in 732 and now 848 and 609 don't work either... just a fast busy signal...

I can't seem to duplicate this problem with numbers I'm dialing all over Southern California. In my area code, out, all over. Seems to work just fine for me. I am able to dial AT&T mobile numbers, as well.

Guess that doesn't help you guys much, huh? Perhaps try to tell Tech Chat of the problem.

I have an AT&T cellphone and it works fine. I even tried it 20 times to see if ever got a fast busy signal. None yet

I am having exactly the same problem. What bothers me the most is that my number works, but not my sister's. Yet we are both in the same family plan.

Quick update to my situation. I just found out that if I do a 7 digit dial, I can get through to my sister's number. However, in order to dial to my cell phone number, I have to dial all 10 digits. Otherwise I get a busy signal.
