Only 4 rings??

Got my MagicJack today and everything's working great. The only problem I'm having is that, when a call is coming in, the phone only rings 4 times before the voicemail kicks in. This doesn't leave much time to get to the phone if I'm out of the room.

Is there any way to increase the number of rings before the voicemail picks up, or a way to turn the voicemail off (I really don't want it at all) completely?

I have asked this same question to magicJack and on the old forum also. I never got a response. 4 rings is way to low, it should be a least 6 rings in my opinion.

no, there is no way to turn VM off and no way to change how many times the phone rings,hopefully this will change in the future.

I also wish very much that I could turn it off, I have an answering machine that works fine thank you and setting it to answer on 2 rings is not a good solution.....

Not sure why but mine does not pick up until it hits 6 rings, m answering machine picks up after 4 so I don't use the MJ voice mail

Mine would pick up after 4 rings and sometimes 6... it varies.

I have a new and old unit and when I tested them the other night they both went to VM at four rings.
