MJ Issues

I've had a regular MJ for about 18 months. It works sporadically for both in and outbound calls. For instance, we pick it up when it rings but no one's there. They call back, same thing a few more times. Finally, it'll answer on the fourth or fifth attempt. The same thing happens when dialing out. The other parties phone rings but we can't hear each other until I've called four or five times.

I thought the MJ could be the problem, so I bought the MJ+. With new hardware and a new number, it does the same thing. I've tried wireless phone systems, single corded phones, etc. Any ideas what's causing this problem? Help would be appreciated...
