How can Magic Jack Plus support extensions
Our home has two separate land lines and I am porting over the second line to MJ+. Currently the second line has a fax machine and two separate Uniden cordless systems plugged into the second line house wiring at three various phone jacks around the house. When the second line phone number is ported over to MJ+, and I disconnect the second line physically from ATT at the network interface, and I use MJ+ without plugging it into a computer, will MJ+ work from either of the Uniden cordless systems plugged into the wiring? Do I have to make any particular adjustments to the house wiring for that second line? Will the fax machine work (a Sharp model about 11 years old)? Thank you.

Faxing is hit or miss. You'll have to do a few test faxes and see if they go through. Setting the baud rate lower usually helps but isn't a guarantee. If you backfeed the mj into one of the jacks that's currently working for your 2nd line then all the rest will activate. If you need to use the jack you're backfeeding into then you can either use a splitter or wire another jack in the house for the 2nd line. They may already be wired(if you're lucky). Activating too many jacks or having too many phones can affect the integrity of the service(mainly ringing).

A word on faxing, setting the MJ+ to normal (not 3g aircard) in the softpad before moving the PLUS to stand alone mode helps with faxing.
True broadband Internet like Charter cable helps with faxing.
The modem in the Fax machine makes a big difference as well, with MJ+ service it works OK on my HP all in one deskjet printer but the brother fax machine won't even connect.

I'm happy to report the faxing is working out pretty well so far. Must be lucky!! And I hooked up the two Uniden cordless systems and they both ring (trick for me was to unplug MJ+ from my switch/router for a few seconds after hooking up the phone for the first time - that kind of reset must allow it to ring on the phone once the MJ+ is plugged back in).
