When I make a call it uses the computers speakers instead of the phone's speaker. It still uses the mic in the phone though. When I open the Volume/Headset Control window it will not let me select Telephone. Its set to Headset/Other and I can't change it.
This problem popped up when I recovered my hard drive. I've been using this same set up for 2 yrs with no problems but now I can't get it to work right. I tried uninstalling and re-installing MJ but nothing changed. I looked through the speaker settings in the control panel. It shows the phone (USB Internet Phone by TigerJet) in the recording tab but I only have Speakers and SPDIF Interface listed in the playback tab.
In the Volume/Headset Control window I can change the earpiece from Speakers to SPDIF Interface but when I switch it to SPDIF I loose all sound.
What am I missing?
Thanks
MJ doesn't recognize my phone?

@ tranks,
You need to try these:
1) Leave the MJ plugged in.
2) your system clock (time and date) should be correct.
3) Go to Device Manager.
4) Click on [+] sign next to Universal Serial Bus
5) Check how many composite devices do you have there (usually 2)
6) Right click them one at a time then select Properties. Take note of their Locations.
7) Once Locations are noted, unplug the MJ device then take note which of the composite devices will disappear.
Once noted, plug back in your magicJack then right click on the composite device that disappeared then select Uninstall.
9) Right click on Universal Serial Bus and select "Scan for Hardware Changes".
10) Restart the dial pad. On the softphone click on Menu > Advanced Users > Restart. Your magicJack dialpad will restart then toggle to Telephone once again...
Hope that works...
