WHEN WILL MJ GET THE NUMBER OF ANSWER RINGS CHANGED TO 5

The magic features plugin that fixes this costs $20 and will not allow me to connect directly with the router. Just upgrade their software to change to 5 rings before answering..no big deal.
As it is my answering machine is in a tie race of 4 rings to answer
with a 50 percent winning race

Obviously a big deal to MJ as it has been this way since MJ came out 5 years or so ago. I am sure they have their reasons for keeping ut at 4 rings. So unless you plan on inventing your own VOIP dongle there really isnt much you can do at this point unless you use MagicFeatures and have your Plus plugged into the USB port of your PC.

OK so no way to change answer ring setting how about any suggestion to get the computer to stop announcing and ringing?

The same company which makes your MagicFeatures also makes Magic Silence and Ring Forever. Both will take care of your problems, but the Plus HAS to be plugged into the PC for them to work.

The MagicRingForever Plugin is targeted specifically at what you are trying to achieve and it is on sale at the moment. With it in place, you can set your external answering machine to pick up after any number of rings you need.

On a completely different subject, if you want to stop the ringing sounds that come out of your computer speakers when a call arrives, right mouse click on the magicJack dialer icon located in the lower right hand traybar area of your computer screen and make sure the top item in the menu is set so it reads "Switch to Headset".
