My mouse stops working when I turn the Magic Jack on

I have a Dell laptop and I'm using a wired mouse. When I start Magic Jack, my mouse stops working and so does my touchpad. My keyboard is still functional. How do I get rid of this problem?

Sounds like a driver conflict to me. I have to "assume" your mouse is connected via USB, as is the MJ. Have you looked to see if there is a new and updated driver for your mouse? Can you use your mouse via your PS2 port instead ( most come with an adapter to do so) as a test to see if that helps?
Could also be a USB driver has gotten corupted. There are ways to get them reinstalled but it requires you to go into device manager and delete all of the USB entries and then reboot and have them re-install.
