Preserving your MJ number

Post by cell14 »

If you want to drop Magic Jack but your MJ number is important to you, you can move it to Google voice.
T mobile has now a special - on line orders only, 1.99 plus tax for a SIM card.
If you have an unlocked GSM phone around or can borrow one, you are good to go. So, you first port your MJ number to T-mobile ( ignore MJ's extortion e-mail) .A few days later, you port it from T-mobile to Google voice for $ 20.- .
I just started the process with my second MJ number.
BTW the prepaid SIM card comes with 10 minutes. Which is good because you will need some minutes for GV confirmation.
You can move your MJ number to GV through some other carriers as well, it will usually cost you more than with T-mobile. Caution : GV does not accept ports from certain smaller cellular carriers or MVNO's.

Now this is some great advice. If you truly love your phone number you have had in your family for a generation or more. The number you remember as a child. The number you call when in rehab. Ask yourself is MJ where you wanna trust to call when the shit hits the fan.
