Problem with USB card in Vista
For some reason when I plug MJ into the USB 2.0 PCI card, Vista SP1 doesn't detect it, but the blue light is on. When I plug into the motherboard USB (which is 1.1) MJ installs perfectly. Is there a way to get MJ to work with the USB card? VIA makes the USB chip and I checked Device Manager and the drivers are installed correctly
Normally, MJ appears as four devices: a virtual CD drive, a USB flash drive, a sound card and a Human Interface Device. Which, if any, appear when you plug into the PC card? If none, have you verified that other devices work properly with this card?
I'm curious why you want to do this. Since MJ is USB 1.1 only, it would make sense to connect it to the MB port, saving the fast USB ports for devices that can benefit.
I'm also curious what motherboard is new (fast) enough to run Vista well, yet has no USB 2.0 ports?
