I have given up on running mj+ straight off the router...
Now, I have plugged it straight into a computer usb and run the update.
When I start the computer (not a restart) mj does not start. If I double click the icon, the software starts, but it says I need to plug in my mj+.
It acts as if it isn't even plugged in to the usb.
I unplug it, then plug it back in and it works.
The old mj used to start automatically with the computer...
why doesn't the mj+?

Re: MJ+ Will Not Start w/ Computer
If it were me, I would d/l the mjremover.exe program from MJ's web page and start all over. Maybe something got corrupted somewhere causing your problem.2guntom wrote:I have given up on running mj+ straight off the router...

Actually found this in the FAQ at mj
WINDOWS VISTA USERS:
1.Please go to C:>Documents and Settings>Users>Application Data>Roaming> mjusbsp> in00000.
2.Copy the file named setup and close that folder.
3.Click the Start button, click All Programs, right click the Startup folder, and choose open all users Paste the setup file into that folder.
4.Your magicJack will now start on bootup.
Well, that didn't work either!2guntom wrote:Actually found this in the FAQ at mj

It seems to me when I registered the thing when I first hooked it up, there was a place where I could select whether I was going to use it attached to a computer or not...
I can't seem to find anything about that now...

Thanks to everyone that posts in these forums!
I ran this
http://upgrades.talk4free.com/tools/mjRemover.exe
Then plugged mj+ into a usb that is part of the motherboard; previously it was plugged into a usb pci card.
(these are ALL suggestions from various threads in this forum)
The mj+ software now starts when the computer starts.
We'll see if the audio is any better...

Audio is great!
But, today I called the mj+ from work and I could not hear the person talking on the mj+, but they could hear me. I told them to CALL ME (from the mj+) and it worked fine.
Later I called the mj+ from my cell with no issues...
Here we go again!
I thought having it plugged into the computer was "the fix"
