I hear a rapid dial tone upon picking up the phone to call

Post by sovostar »

Everything has been working well with MJ Plus but just now, I picked up the phone to make a call and I hear a rapid dial tone, like a busy line but quicker.

I thought this might be indicating that voicemail has been left but I've pressed the star key, the hash key and the 4-digit pass code, but nothing happens.

Any ideas what this means?

Sure sounds like you have voice mail to me. Did you dial your MJ number from your phone and check to see? After you dial your number, hit * and then the default password of 1 2 3 4 ( unless you changed it of course).

Yes, I did. Nothing there.
So, anyway, I've unplugged the MJ device, waited 30 seconds and plugged it back into the power strip. All seems to working normally again and I have a normal dial tone.
I wouldn't like this to keep happening.
The MJ electrical plug design sure is a poor design though.

This problem has re-surfaced. This time, nothing I have done has resolved the problem.
I've disconnected it from the mains power and I've removed the network cable from the MJ device. Dd these on 2 separate occasions.
There was voicemail before but I've cleared it out.
