Magicjack Plus only works in USB mode
My Magicjack Plus works if it's connected to USB. Blue light is solid and I'm able to do outgoing and also received incoming calls.
But when I do it in standalone mode, same setup and only difference is just I plugged it to the wall outlet, I'm not getting any dial tone at all. The blue light that was solid earlier is just now blinking every 5 seconds.

The Magicjack Plus is connected to the PC now(is the only way the Magicjack Plus will work at the moment)and the "Lucky You" message appears.
The Magicjack Plus worked fine connected to the router for 6 months, but now the blue light keeps blinking. It blinks when connected to the router, it blinks when connected to the modem, it even blinks when connected to nothing but the power outlet.

I had the exact same problem where when my MJ was hooked up straight to my router the blue light on the MJ would blink but when my MJ was plugged into my USB on my computer the blue light would not blink. Furthermore, the dial tone when my MJ was attached straight to my router sounded like this, "Beep, beep, beep, beep.......," whereas when my MJ was hooked up to my USB on my computer the dial tone was a steady dial tone (normal dial tone). I thought my router was broken or I thought my MJ was broken. Little did I know that when my MJ was attached directly to my router the "Beep, beep, beep....." dial tone was actually the distinctive dial tone which indicated that I had voice messages. After I cleared the voice messages, my MJ when attached directly to my router now has a steady dial tone and no longer goes, "Beep, beep, beep, beep......" So what I thought was broken was actually the distinctive dial tone alerting me that I had voice messages. However, the blue light still blinks when my MJ is plugged into my router but the blue light is solid when it goes directly to my USB port of my computer but my MJ seems fully functional.

Molly: The blue light is for your internet connection, Gat.
gat: I have another question Molly
Molly: As much as possible the blue should have a steady light.
gat: That leads to my next question......
Molly: Okay.
gat: How is it that when my MJP is connected directly to my computer via the USB port the blue light is steady (doesn't blink)?
Molly: Yes, the blue light should not blink.

Molly: Are you using an adapter?

Today I received this email from customer support. I'm kind of hesitant to send in my power adapter to them because as I've mentioned above everything with my MJP seems to be functioning properly and what if in the worst case senerio what if my package gets lost by the post office or something else where I never see my power adapter again (Magic Jack is not the most reputable and reliant company as we all know). And it will take a couple of weeks to get back a replacement power adapter. Ugh, I might just live with the blinking blue light. Anyhow if I do send it in I'll report back if the blue light stops blinking when I do receive the replacement power adapter.

Thanks for the information Pilot. But I liken my situation to say for example my vision or eye sight getting blurry with age and I go to the doctor for a check up thinking I might get a prescription for some glasses but the doctor tells me to have surgery to improve my vision. Whoa, wait a minute. The risks could outweigh my reward. For the time being I think I might be able to live with blurry vision (lol). I'm not the gambling type.

In another thread I just read that someone's blue light is steady when connected to the router but another light next to the blue light is blinking. Upon closer inspection of my own MJP when connected to the router I noticed that my blue light is also solid but there is another light next to my blue light that is blinking as well. I think I might need glasses after all for my blue light is solid but it sure looked like it was blinking.

Restart the firewall
winxp home, Teracom adsl wifi router...
I tried, forwarding ports, dmz etc for hrs, crossing my fingers and hoping to hear the dialtone but nothing worked... so finally I decided to remove all these settings in the magicjack account and on my router and start fresh...
I just disabled my computers firewall and it started working! and I reenabled it and it still works, even when I turned everything off and restarted, it still works...
so try that...
