burfoot,
Yes I have an idea but I get tired of writing into thin air so if you are there and want to try something let me know.
There is a USB driver problem with "Some" drivers and if that is what the problem is there is a work-around fix.

Re: computer crashes
Computer crashes are usually caused by one (or more) of the followings:Burfoot wrote:after i dowloaded update mj finally inaitiolized - but as soon as the softphone screen apperars computer restarts itself.. first time i plugged it in comp froze and i ended up restoring comp..it did this again so i formated hd and did fresh install this hasn't helped.any ideas?

- Main OS hard drive contains error - need to do "check disk for error"
- memory (RAM) error, bad RAM, bad motherboard that causes memory freeze
- CPU overheat that could also cause crashes
- faulty power supply that could not keep up with current requirement of PC & peripherals
- bad software drivers
- OS that has not received any software updates
I would try to "check disk for error" first.
