If they both don't get their acts together pretty soon they will both be out of business before the lawsuit is settled.
One sad thing is that crappy providers like MJ or Nettalk with wide public exposure make it difficult for genuine low cost VOIP providers. Most people I know do not want to get VOIP because they all have a friend unhappy with MJ or Nettalk( most of them MJ). And here come the internet /cable providers with their" bundles" to fill the niche. The sooner Magic Jack and Nettalk disappear, the better.
Competition is always a very good thing. there is enough competition out there without MJ and NT, which excel more in deceptive marketing than in performance. Wireless providers have no problem with VOIP competition anyway, it's a different animal and they do raise their voice rates. I would have to pay now $ 25/month more ( incl taxes and junk fees) if I cancelled my grandfathered plan and got a new one.- On the positive side, MJ & NetTalk are helping to keep the other telcos (incl. cable tv and cellular providers) from further raising their voice rates; in some instances the competition is actually forcing them to lower their rates. Sometimes competition can be a good thing.
