I just bought a new 64 bit Win 7 Ultimate machine, and my MJ won't start on it. The USB port is fine, and the MJ works on another XP machine, but when I plug it in, the blue light comes on only momentarily, and the MJ shows up as "unknown device" in my device manager.
I spent 6 hrs online with MJ "tech support" today, with no joy... hoping maybe someone here might have experienced the same problem and can point me in the right direction.
At this point, it really looks to me as though the problem is one of either compatibility or configuration.
Magic Jack works on 32 bit XP, but not on 64 bit Win 7

I purchased this device as the only way to talk with my family for the next 9 months.
I paid $89.00 and wanted to port my home number with me. It would not allow it. I had to buy a different number for $10.00 per year.
I set it up according to the instructions and it must have been OK as it worked fine for the first 2 days. Then 10 days ago, I turned it on and all of my contacts and my phone number were gone. It came up with a registration page all over again. So with another $10.00, I signed up again and registered again. Once I did this, it told me that I was already registered.
I can't get past the registration page.
I talked to support online and he told me that it was above his pay grade so he kicked my complaint up to the Technicians.
That was 10 days ago and $99.00
STILL NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
I would not buy one if you are looking for a recommendation.
