Having problems transferring phone number to Magic Jack

I have been trying for several weeks now to transfer my phone number from AT&T to Magic Jack. I have no DSL on that line and I have called AT&T to make sure that there is no hold or block on the phone number, I was told it is ready to be transferred.
It is past my 30 days now so I can't get my money back on the Magic Jack Plus.
When I try to transfer my phone number I get the same message stating that my phone number can not be transferred at this time and to try back at a later date.
I have spent several days and hours with the chat line only to get the same answer to try back at a later date!

What else can I do? This is very frustrating.

Try to xfer number to a carrier like Tmobile (with a prepaid phone). Then xfer number to MJ.

Works 90% of time
