Satellite Internet
I have been trying all day to get some satisfaction with my mj. I went through three different service people and finally the last one told me that satallite internet was not supported by mj because it is unreliable. I have it connected and I can hear the party I am calling, but I am breaking up on their end. If I can hear them clearly, why can't they do the same? I was not informed that Satellite was not supported. The ad said "HighSpeed Internet".
Some DirecPC connections have insufficient upstream speed or delay consistency for VoIP.
Go to http://www.testyourvoip.com/ and test to Boston. If you get a good score, the problem is not with your Internet connection and we'll troubleshoot further. If it's bad, choose Test Again, click Conserve Bandwidth, and test to Boston again. If the score is still bad, you will probably not be able to use magicJack effectively. If it's now ok, it may be possible to configure the system to use a compression codec (this is not yet officially supported, but it should be soon).
