simultaneous ring anyone?

Features that are coming "soon". Area Codes, Caller ID blocking, Follow me, etc.

simultaneous ring anyone?

Post by mikengray »

Anyone know if the "simulring" feature that Vonage offers will be added to the MagicJack service? For those who don't know, its like call forwarding, but it allows you to put a number in and it will ring both your MagicJack number and any other outside number simultaneously. Its very useful if you want your MagicJack number as your primary, but still want to get those calls on a cell phone when you're out and about. Anyone know how to make suggestions to the company (other than writing Dan directly)??

MJ does not currently have "simulring" feature. However, MJ users have been using GrandCentral's "simulring" with MJ just fine. I don't like GC that much since I have to press "1" to accept incoming call :)

Any idea on when they're going to start allowing access to more Grand Central users? I love on of their numbers, to use with MJ and my cell phone. But, it appears to be by invitation only as far as new users are concerned. Anyone want to "invite" me?

I guess invites are currently closed. I say guess, but haven't got a actual GC member to verify. Just a couple jackass comments, in the big GC thread.

I'm a Google GrandCentral member. The invite feature was removed months ago. I have no idea when that feature will become active again.

The grand central issue is not quite that simple

From time to time the "invite" button appears. I can not explain when, how, etc. I suspect it happens in certain area codes for a short period. As soon as I see it I send an invite to myself at a "spare" eMail address and then subscribe. I have used this to get numbers all over the country which is really nice because clients can all call me for the cost of a local call. But it certainly is true that the invite button is rarely there and even when it is it is not hugely obvious. So, I would say give up any chance short term of getting an invite, sadly. It is a great service and we have to assume that they will release it soon. How long can it be in beta?
