How do you organize contacts?

Once I put a contact in and try to edit the name I can, but if I try to organize it alphabetically it won't let me. If I try to rename something like Dad with z dad, to make it last and easy to find it will stay with the D instead of Z, is there any way to alphabetize contacts once they are edited?

Contacts are listed alphabetically by last name, then first name.
Contacts without last names are listed first and alphabetically by first name.
Consider putting the full name (given and surname) in the "First Name" field and then putting your preferred list order in the "Last Name" field. Use leading zeros. "Dad" 001, "Sis" 002, "Crabby Ex Wife" 099...

It's not a pretty fix, but it would work.
