Hi, my magicjack was stolen in the mail after I set it up. I set the device up, created a new phone number and mailed it to my parents. The device got stolen in the mail. I have already paid a 5 year subscription for it. I chatted with tech support. they said sorry they cant do anything about it...
what can I do?

Re: Stolen Magic Jack
How did you sent it? What carrier? Was it insured when you sent it? Did you check with your carrier where it was last scanned? Did it get stolen from your parents mailbox? MJ tech support is right when they said sorry they cant do anything about it. They might let you purchase a replcement with a replacement fee but im not sure, im just guessing.risho28 wrote:Hi, my magicjack was stolen in the mail after I set it up. Just buy a new one and then have the number changed to whatever number your parents had. Also search this site there is one guy for sure that said the same thing as you and another that came back and said that was strange he had no problem getting them to change the number on his new unit. Anyway the secret to MJ tech support is to keep calling back until you get some one that speaks English and when you talk to them keep it simple. If you add a lot of details it goes right over their heads. The minute they can't follow you anymore they just want to get rid of you. So make your request sound like something out of a Dick and Jane reader.

soulstormdotcom,
That is one of the better tips I have heard in some time.
Thanks.
@Stewart, would it be possible to have a sticky with one line tips like this one. i.e. I was just working with "Clinktd" and we discovered that on a T5710 you must have the latest OS firmware ending in 336A or you can wrestle your thin client from now until dooms day and it still won't work. Ugh!
