dial is very slow

Post by enotz »

I recently got my first MJ and it is working VERY well. I like it. The one thing that is a little annoying is that when I dial a number, either from the attached phone, or their softphone it seems to dial it VERY slowly. Looks like 2 seconds per digit.

For example, I can dial the ten digit number that I want to call and then I see the digits come up one at a time, slowly in the softphone. Anyone else see this? Anyone have a solution?

Their chat does not seem to!

How fast is your PC? CPU speed, RAM size, HDD size? Perhaps your system is overloaded with CPU intensive tasks in the background and caused MJ softphone to go into "slow motion" mode

Might want to open up a command prompt on your computer and run MSCONFIG. See if you can shut down some unwanted programs that might be hogging your system's resources. I just did that on my Sister in Law's computer. She had yahoo messenger, limewire, adobe acrobat, myspace chat program, ICQ, a casino game with adware, MS Messenger, and a bunch of other little programs. Then she wonders why it took 5 minutes for her machine to boot up.. lol

machine is fast enough for all other things. 3MB memory, dual code 64 bit 2.7G AMD processor, very few extra services - long since closed them down

I see the same issue on my laptop & desktop, and both are the latest and the greatest...very odd. I guess we get what we pay for :) Like Sunrocket!

I do now know that it is the magicJack softphone though because when I use it with another one, which is what I now do, I have no speed issue

I'm sure that 3MB memory is a typo. That would not even be enuff to fire up the start button light. Image

Also, since your question is of a technical nature and not a Feature Coming Soon, please try in the future to post in the correct category.
