Could not seem to connect calling CANADA (?)

Post by mao »

I have magicjack for just hours.. I called US, it had no problems...
Then I tried calling a Canada mobile number, and this is what I hear on the phone..

"you have reach the wi max comm. no.. this call was sucesful.." then the phone hangs

I'm a bit new to this and next to being dub.. probably should not even should be posted here...

Anyway, if anyone could enlighten me how to call Canada numbers == specifically mobile

What area code / exchange are you calling and how are you dialing it?

Calls to Canada do not terminate most of the time..... Caller receives audible ringing but called station does not ring.
If MJ lines to Canada are busy, caller should be routed to fast busy not audible ringing.
This cofuses the caller to think that no one is home to take the call!! Very disappointed.....
Area codes 450,514,306 etc.... :

Canadian Calling downtime

Post by sourpants »

I've had the exact same issue and have posted here before. I have even started a Canadian downtime log. Here is what I have so far:

April 19, 6 pm - April 20, 6 pm
April 23 - 10:48 am - 12:00 pm
April 27 - 2:44 pm - 3:41 pm
April 29 - 9:30 pm - ?

And this is just from my informal testing. Who knows what the actual downtime is like. It is unfortunate, for I really like the product idea, but it seems that they are not ready for the Canadian market.

I have contacted magicjack.com for a refund, but they direct me to Victor's Canadian reseller site. Notice that his site doesn't speak of a 30-day guarantee. I am emailing him right now for clarification.
